Adam was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia in a small blue-collar town called Hatboro, Pennsylvania. At an early age, his parents made music a major part of his life in many ways. Adam’s first favorite song was “Fire On The Moutain” due to his father blasting Live Grateful Dead albums during summertime convertible rides. He began learning piano thanks to his mother playing Elton John and Billy Joel songs around the house- she would eventually become his first music teacher.

These influences later led him to learn guitar, saxophone, and bass. By the time he got to high school, Adam began playing all of these instruments in marching band, jazz ensembles, garage bands, and more. It wasn’t until the age of 18 that he decided to begin using his voice for his own music. From that point on songwriting was his calling, passion, and obsession. Instead of taking notes in class, Adam could be found daydreaming and writing lyrics about parties, young love, heartbreak, rebellion, and all of the other innocent thrills teenagers experience.

At Berklee College of Music, Adam was finally fully embracing a musician’s lifestyle in an artistic atmosphere that naturally exposed him to new genres of music and allowed him to hone in on the craft of songwriting. Here, he met the members of his band that would eventually become Adam Travis & The Soul, the Boston jam band that combines reggae, rock, soul, and blues.

In 2015, Adam graduated and moved to Brooklyn, New York where his struggling artist journey began. Living in a tiny apartment, going through a tragic breakup, and taking an office job to keep his music career afloat left him with a new range of emotions and topics to write about. These songs and stories have culminated into a solo project and an album entitled, July Again, which comes out Summer 2022.
